Whale Watching in Iceland: August Adventures on the Open Sea

Whale Watching in Iceland: August Adventures on the Open Sea

Sunny Days & Perfect Conditions

August blessed us with great weather and plenty of sunny days, making it one of the best months for whale watching in Reykjavík. Calm seas and clear skies created ideal conditions for unforgettable tours at sea, where nature and wildlife came together in spectacular harmony.

Whale Watching in August — Daily Sightings

Throughout the month, our guests enjoyed sightings on almost every tour.

For many families, it was especially magical—a lot of kids witnessed whales up close for the very first time, an experience they’ll never forget.

Puffin Season Ends on 20th August

August also marked the final days of puffin season. Until 20th August, our Puffin Express tours brought passengers close to the nesting colonies, where these colorful seabirds could be seen flying, diving, and caring for their chicks. Many lucky children (and adults!) had the chance to watch puffins in their natural habitat before they left Iceland for the winter seas.

Welcoming Guests From All Over the World

This August, we were proud to welcome passengers from many different countries aboard our tours. Whale watching in Iceland has truly become a global experience, bringing together people of all ages to share the wonder of the ocean. Families, couples, and friends alike joined us, creating unforgettable memories on the waters of Faxaflói Bay.

The Beauty of Icelandic Nature

Beyond the whales and puffins, August tours offered breathtaking views of Iceland’s coastline and mountains, bathed in summer light. Guests often told us that the combination of majestic wildlife and stunning landscapes made the experience one of the highlights of their entire trip to Iceland.
